Why Pro-Life?

Since we know from science that embryos and fetuses are indeed distinct living human beings (any embryology textbook can tell you this) and no amount of denial or dehumanization will ever take away this basic scientific fact, abortion is by far the biggest human genocide that has ever existed before, bigger than all other wars and genocides combined, because tens of millions of preborn humans are killed through abortion each year worldwide. Even if all born humans denied this scientific fact that they are distinct living human beings just like born humans, it would not change this fact. We were all once fetuses in the exact same way that we were all once newborns.

Abortion destroys and kills the bodies and lives of preborn humans in astronomical numbers. Their bodies often get torn apart in the process, and it’s on the most vulnerable and defenseless humans at that. Preborn liberation is important for the future of humanity. We truly need to create a peaceful and compassionate world that rejects oppression. Abortion is a big part of child oppression.

It also includes the systemic exploitation of women and pregnant people. Pregnant people get told on a constant basis that their children are not children, abortion doesn't kill anyone, and they can't be parents in whatever situations they are in. This happens because the abortion industry wants to use them to make money by killing their children for a profit. The mass dehumanization that preborn humans face is an extremely strong form of human oppression, in part because there are endless different ways in which they get dehumanized and many born humans who dehumanize them.

All of this means that abortion is the most genocidal, violent, destructive, oppressive, exploitative, and abusive concept ever thrust on humans in all of human history. This is why the debate is still going on 50 years after Roe v Wade became the law. You just can’t dehumanize your way out of the fact that abortion kills young human beings. And because abortion kills young human beings, people are against abortion for the same reason people are against war, animal agriculture, the death penalty, police brutality, or any other form of violence or killing.

Abortion harms both mother and child, as well as society as a whole. Everyone who is post-abortive is a victim of the abortion industrial complex. People don’t go skipping down to the clinic happy to do it, they do it when they are made to feel like they have no other choice by being told they can’t be mothers if they are poor, single, teenagers, going to school, have or want careers, abused, want to travel, or want lives worth living, as well as being told their child is a clump of cells. No one wants to grieve a dead child. Everyone deserves better than abortion.

Abortion is something that goes against every pro-choicer’s own values, and the only reason they can’t see that is because the abortion industry is so powerful that it was successfully able to convince a lot of people that human beings are clumps of cells and the killing of them is somehow women’s healthcare and liberation. So for the mothers and the children and everyone who has ever been affected by abortion, we fight against it. We know it’s our duty to help expose this extreme violence for what it is and point out that it is the exact opposite of left-wing or feminist or vegan. A truly equitable and nonviolent society is the only way forward.
